The ALP FFIRS project at WORKSHOP on climate change and Alpine forests

The ALP FFIRS project results will be shown at the Workshop titled “The future of Alpine forests in light of the potential impacts of climate change: threats and opportunities” organized by Italian Ministry for the Environment, Italian Presidency 2013-2014 of the Alpine Convention,  in cooperation with the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia on 17th May 2013 in Udine, Italy, in the context of the Exposition of Sustainability – EOS (

The Workshop will have the objectives of analyzing the data available on Alpine forests and the possible solutions for improving the coordination of the transalpine mountain forests monitoring systems, as well as of sharing knowledge, experience and good practices for deploying innovative tools of trans-boundary governance.
Further, the Workshop aims at fostering debate with the local competent authorities on the strategies adopted at the local and trans-boundary levels in order to identify possible shared solutions towards a sustainable management of the Alpine forest resources in light of the potential impacts of climate change and of the related risks and opportunities.
